Cubby O’Brien Now
After touring, he joined the Lawrence Welk organization for a few years. After graduating from high school he started touring with Spike Jones and was sometimes the on-camera drummer for CBS’s The Carol Burnett Show. He also went on to play drums for Karen Carpenter’s band before her tragic death from anorexia. Cubby has also regularly participated in reunions with his Mouseketeer co-stars throughout the years including the 50th anniversary in 2005. He also still actively plays the drums. Since the 80’s his career has been around performing for Broadway productions but has since moved back to the West Coast.
