Cubby O’Brien Then
Cute Cubby O’Brien was one of the first stars of the Mouseketeers. He is the son of a well-known big band era drummer named Hack O’Brien. He was, like Annette Funicello, personally chosen by Walt Disney himself to appear on the Mickey Mouse Club. Although he had little prior experience with singing and dancing, he was placed on the first-string Red Team and quickly picked up the skills necessary, although his solo performances focused around the drums. He remained on the show for all three seasons and went on to continue with live performances with the Mouseketeers after the show ended.
