Beautiful Darlene Gillespie was one of the first members of the Mouseketeers. She also ended up with a role in the first ever Mickey Mouse Club spinoff show called Corky and the White Shadow. She later appeared as Dorothy in a live action version of Dorothy and the Wizard of Oz.
She was under contract with Disney for a while, however, her career never catapulted like that of Annette Funicello. Like many of her co-stars, she forayed herself into a music career and recorded multiple albums under the name Darlene Valentine.
